This Alternative-Metal group was formed in Bakersfield, California USA, in 1992 by lead singer Jonathan Davis, guitarists James 'Munky' Shaffer and Brian 'Head' Welch, bassist Reginald 'Fieldy' Arvizu and drummer David Silveria. Two years later, Korn released its self-titled debut album; although it received very little support from critics, cracked The Billboard Top 200 chart reaching a respectable #72 position, but their wildly dynamic heavy-Rock was ready to explode. In October 1996, the band released their second album, "Life Is Peachy"; the record peaked at #3 on The Billboard Top 200 and cracked the top 40 in the U.K. while the band toured across Europe with Limp Bizkit and Helmet.Korn's audience continued to grow, during the second half of the '90s as the group's third album, 1998's "Follow The Leader", climbed to the top slot of The Billboard 200 chart and crashed into the top 5 of the British chart, it spawned two smash singles: "Got The Life" made top 20 on both Modern and Mainstream Rock charts and "Freak On A Leash" climbed into the top 10 in the same charts.By the fall of 1999, the quintet released "Issues", another strong commercial LP which shot to #1 on the U.S. Albums chart, the record included two Modern Rock top 10 hit singles: "Falling Away From Me" and "Make Me Bad".Korn, after two-year break, rumors of crisis and solo projects, reconvened to record a new album; "Untouchables" was released in mid-2002 and hit the top 3 of the North-American Albums charts; the first single, "Here To Stay", peaked at #4 spots, the highest chart-position that the band ever reached, on both Billboard's Rock charts, the track also won a Grammy for Best Metal Performance; the second single, "Thoughtless", reached the #6 position on The Mainstream Rock list; an international tour with Puddle Of Mudd and TRUSTcompany ensued, by this point "Untouchables" became a huge hit in Europe, cracking the top 5 on the National U.K. Albums chart.
